The opening of so many Pakistani satellite channels has confused the TV viewers who are unable to concentrate on single programme at one time. These channels also demand a great chunk of TV programmes to cater for their viewers. The whole process results in a high demand for more and more actors. In these prevailing conditions, it has become very difficult for an actor to make an impression on people’s minds unless he or she has a great potential for acting with good looks. Among these all new and old actors, Rija is a conspicuous face which has mesmerised the people’s attention through her performances. The actress had a rendezvous with The Post where we found out some aspects of her personality.
You seem to be very choosy regarding your projects, isn’t it?
I am kind of a person who goes after quality not quantity. That’s why people have seen much selected work of mine in the five years of my work in the TV industry.
What is going on right now?
I have been doing some pretty good work with some of the stalwarts of TV industry (directors). My dramas, Dabbay Paoon and Kharidar, are on air right now.
Your pals in the showbiz industry
There can be no one like Nouman Ejaz. His friendship is just like a treasure for me in an industry where everyone is so materialistic. I have enjoyed each and every minute of mine while working with the guy as he is fun to work with. On the same hand, I respect Ahsan Khan a lot. He is not only a star but a really nice human being and that is what I like the most in his personality.
Being a star and then realistic, how come
Realistic, yes you can say that. Because I have gone through so much pain which only a few could even visualise. A lot of suffering and pain are reasons which have changed my approach towards the industry, life and relations.
The director of your choice
Owais Khan and Farooq Pario are some of the best directors to work with. Especially, Farooq is a genius and his work speaks about its creator.
Any plans to be betrothed
No plans to get knotted. It can take a month or may not be possible for another five years. But whenever I get the right guy, I will bid adieu to the industry.
Any ambitions in your life
I have never planned my life. So, I have no ambitions for the future. I decide on the moment, as whenever I plan one thing something else happens so I keep myself far from planning.
